The 50-Series wagons on the DCFD are water supply engines (hose wagons in another era). As with the 50-Series wagons, the second digit shows which battalion owns it; E-55 is the water supply engine assigned to the 5th Battalion. E-55 is one of two full-time staffed water supply engines. The view is 8th and Dahlia St. NW, December 22, 2010.

I am not at all familiar with how DCFD operates, so I'm curious on what is the criteria that decides when to dispatch one of the water supply pumpers? Do the two full time staffed water supply pumpers have a full crew or driver only?

You get a water supply wagon on every box alarm and they are driver only.

It's too bad they can't return to the 2-piece Engine Company system...

FYI FYI E66 is a "ready reserve" (fully equipped), E73 is a "fleet reserve" (barely equipped). E35 is one of two academy engines (E34 is an E\-One)
