I have Engine 19, as being a 2003 model.
Whats the story with E22 and a fire?

Thanks in advance.

Engine 22's motor burnt up. It occurred this summer, and has been out of service since. They haven't had much luck. A month or so ago, they hit a bus with their reserve engine while responding to a call.
I know this is off topic but do any of the DC brothers have any insight as to when or if the next recruit classes might start? Thanks guys!

New Support vehicle. I'm not sure where or what its use will be, however yesterday it was used to tow the DCFD 1905 American LaFrance horse drawn steamer to The House of Pain for our grand reopening and ribbon cutting ceremony.

As usual the Friendship Fire Association of Washington, DC took care of us. They set up shop both in our parking lot from the Canteen Unit and inside the house by donating time, food, and putting together a great history of our house booklet for all who attended.

That's awesome that people are willing to donate their time for the sake of history. Tradition is the fire service, but sadly the younger generation coming in could care less about tradition and history. They just want someone to give them a pay check and leave them alone during their 24 hr tour. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Roy good photos.

Can you get a good photo of the sign that is shown on this steamer and post it, Huh???
Last I heard the Striker was due in January. Anyone have an update?
Used to love to see old E-18 with Jack Gerhart (RIP) at the reins.

Stay safe, Brothers.

This is the new snow plow/utility truck. Note the mounts up front and under the bumper. Also, the lightbar changes colors from red to amber depending on needs.

It is a 2002 model, delivered in 2003.

The DCFD ordered twenty wagons for 2002-2003: fourteen from Seagrave and six from Pierce. The first 10 Seagraves came in early 2003. They had 1250 GPM 2-stage Waterous pumps and 500-gallon water tanks. Shop serials 136 through 145 went to Engines 2, 3, 18, 26, 27, 30, 9, 10, 15, and 32.

The first ’02 Seagrave went to Engine 2, shop serial 136. This image shows it in the 700 block of H St. SW, July 2010.

Speaking of Engine 2…

Considering the types of fires most often encountered in schools, it was unusual to find smoke and flames coming from a ground-level classroom of Jefferson Junior High School on a Friday afternoon. The view showing Engine 2 on Side 1 belies the actual situation inside.
