For anybody keeping track of the DC Roster.  Former Truck 12, and then 390 made its way onto Govdeals.  It is a 1998 Seagrave 100' TDA.

Engine 8's pumper on the hydrant, NW corner of 15th and D Sts. NE.  1978

This was the first pumper I ever drove on a response, shop number S-212  - Engine 8's 1966 Ward LaFrance.  The 66's Wards came in with Hale QLD 750 GPM two-stage pumps.  The previous Wards had Waterous pumps.  The rig had a 250-gallon water tank.

Some clues in this image: low residual pressure on the plug; weather that day; pumper's previous assignment; DCFD's standardized compartment; ...maybe more.
That didn't take long to go up for sale.

Interesting. These are actually being kept on DC property in Anne Arundel County.

DCFD is about to receive 5 new Pierce engines. They are on the Pierce Flickr site. Engine 1, 2, &10 plus two not numbered. Anybody seen or heard about their Spartan Tillers?

And 4 more yet unassigned
Thanks! I saw the 5 on the website, glad to see they are finally getting some new units! Spartan is also delivering tillers to Montgomery County. 2 if I remember correctly.

The Glen Jr. is out for a rehab, I know it's getting hull repairs and paint. not sure about the rest.

And Fire Boat 3 is a Metal Craft twin outboard aluminum hull, but is back in Canada for a punch list fix.

The John Glenn is getting a complete overhaul.  Will be like "new" when it is done. Big Grin

New pumpers!

Engine 19 repairs underway at Pierce from Bay District Volunteer Fire Department website!

Is there a story here?
I suppose there is.......sort of.  Philadelphia ladder truck not accepted by PFD has been purchased as built by the DCFD.......

Not much difference between what we order and what they order................
