Thanks. While we're on the subject of unexpurgated photos, here was a target of opportunity on 9th St. NW, 09-15-07.

Kevin, will you be doing the rescues and the ambos?

This is great stuff and you should really get with Mike Sanders for an Images of America book. It will go far better than even the DC Firefighting book they have out.
Any reason for doing away with roll ups period? Were they not liked by the FFs or was it a more practical sort of thing?
I think it was a combination of both maintenance and user preference.

Thanks, Lime Guy, for the vote of confidence. As far as pics of the rescues and ambulances, Pete (UK) ran a good spread of 17 images back on page 40 starting at post #786, tough to match. I do have some of the current Rescue Squads, but I don't think the images are as good as what has been posted already. But, hey, I'll dig 'em up.

Continuing the wagon chronology….

E-32 (S-145) received the last wagon in the first batch of the 2003 Seagraves. It replaced their 2000 E\-One Cyclone II.

As mentioned back on page 31 of the thread, the DCFD ordered twenty wagons in 2002: fourteen from Seagrave and six from Pierce. The first 10 Seagraves came in early 2003 and went to Engines 2, 3, 18, 26, 27, 30, 9, 10, 15, and 32. Photo is 200 block of Parkland Pl. SE, July 17, 2007

The Pierce Command Unit has been getting a workout the past couple weeks, taking in numerous fatal fires, extended incidents and multiple alarms. This photo has it on the scene of the previous Platoon’s 3rd Alarm on Adams Mill Rd. at Lanier Pl. NW, October 1, 2007.
